In this display case we can see 7 volume standards for liquids of King Sebastião, made in bronze.
The biggest standard is an “almude”, the base unit of the system. We also see a “meio almude”, 2 “canadas” and 3 “meias canadas” (half canadas). They all present, on one side, the Coat of arms of Portugal (Latin shield with five escutcheons loaded with five bezants and bordure with seven castles, surmounted by a closed royal crown) and, some also have engraved the soveraign’s name: “SEBASTIANVS”.
Some pieces of lower volume have the same capacity but different shapes.7
