
In the case of liquids, the law also establishes the measurement standards, all of which had to follow the Lisbon standards:

“
(…) the almude of wine does not have more than twelve canadas in all places of my Realms, and as declared above; and the measures of olive oil and of other liquids will also be called: almude : half-almude : canada : half-canada : quartilho : half-quartilho : which measures I order to be made standards equal to the correct volumes, as now used in the City of Lisbon; (…)”
